Our First Site - North Hine Street

Welcome to the inaugural site for the YSU Legacy Forests Project! This site was chosen for its close proximity to YSU campus, as the street connects Oak St to US Highway 62.

600 trees were planted on this site in November 2020 with help from volunteer students, staff, and alumni. The site is estimated to sequester 8 tons of carbon dioxide per year.

The N Hine Street land was obtained in collaboration with the Mahoning Valley Land Bank.
